why is it every time i come on (period) i crave for chocolate??//

its because when you have a period the amount of serotonin in your brain produced decreases and chocolate contains natural serotonin. Serotonin is what makes up feel happy, a lack of it causes us to feel weepy when we are on, its what leads to dpression.

Im the same - it's really strange.


Because when its not the time of the month - im not really a big chocolate fan.

me too Sam , i am not a huge fan of chocolate but when its that time of the month , i love it ! especially the cadbury creme egg bars , mmmmm
I'm 42 and dreading the menopause time, then I will have to stop taking 'medicinal chocolate' before my period.

i crave choccy when i come on too


...and when i come off...and in the middle of my cycle...and quarter way through... and 3/4 way through...er...

i'm on at the mo and have been fighting the urge to eat chocolate but all this talk is making me crave it all the more!! now wheres that left over easter egg...
I love choccie all the time, but for a day or two before I'm due on I crave cakes, even those sickly french fancies. Funny how our bodies work!

stylinsam that happens to me also. and the funny thing is i would have all the symptoms for my period but it wouldn't come unless i satisfy that craving.
i read somewhere its somethjing to do wiv magnesium - gives the same feeling as being in love.... was a while ago tho
