OH has to have mri tomorrow for his heart problem, and been told to not drink coffee, tea or chocolate for 24hrs before, would this be due to the caffeine.

probably, it can shrink your blood vessels.

I would think so, caffeine stimulates my heart and gives me extra beats, as do sugar and stress.
