Barsel, are you keeping notes on abbeys queries and how many times she's responded? Plenty of others on here do not respond immediately and sometimes not at all...even regular posters like you and I. Maybe so much advice is a lot to take in. I too hope Abbey comes back...with more questions if necessary. Abbey is not here in disguise. Ab Editor did say she'd...

Totally normal to feel down at times.

Yes normal, keep trying for a job, try your best to be positive.
I've done it also.
Use your time constructively. There are loads of online courses doing them shows prospective employers you have been doing something worth while. Start with the Open university, and other colleges they may only be short 'taster' ones. Your local colleges may also do free courses, doing one of those will get you out of the house meeting people in a similar situation.

Abbey, Have you tried approaching any fashion shops to ask if they have any vacancies for training . From previous posts, I see you are interested rather a lot in what to wear etc. I feel that you may succeed in that kind of job. Keep asking and don't give up. Good luck
Why do you change your username and ask the same question that you asked with the old username?
Are you hoping for different answers?
Or answers from different people?
Try to get some exercise, even 30 mins walk a day might lift your mood
As you will have noticed ABers are good at spotting those posting under a different name.
Tuvok, I think abbey had a problem with her account.

What happened to your job, abbey?
I do wish that seemingly nice Abers would stop being so critical and going into attack mode. It's just unkind.
It's obvious that Abbey is struggling and probably doesn't quite know where to start. She may be overwhelmed and is definitely lacking in confidence.
I think both Rowan and floko have given advice worth considering.
Abbey, when my daughter was trying to get employment, she found nothing in the local newspaper (in the days before internet ! ) so she decided to find her best outfit and, feeling confident and smiling, just entered offices to offer her services on a trial basis. I advised her to 'make herself indispensable'. One company said Yes, and she was still there 18 years later. Have a go ;)

I think ABers tried to offer Abbey constructive advice when she asked this before, several times. I think too that people want to perhaps jolt Abbey into seeing what changes she herself could bring about.
Abbeylee. So you are looking for a job, a place of your own, a partner
and a good time socially? Quite a tall order but not unsurmountable.
I'd start looking for a job first - don't be too fussy about what you do at first as long as it brings you a pay packet at the end of the week.
we all have days of sunshine and rain
getting some training ( see above) is a good idea
reminds me a bit of my days at Porton ( yes THERE) in 1970.
so I got to university
