I've just had a phone call from someone pretending to be from my bank, though they didn't mention which bank.
If I wanted to stop a payment to an account in Europe I should press 1.
I hung up.
Their number is: 07764 243834.
Be careful, there seems to be thieves everywhere.

I now habitually press whichever number connects me to the scammer & then politely inform them that they have reached the An Garda Síochána anti-terrorism hotline and invite them to stay on the line whilst the armed response unit is on the way ...
You can report these calls by texting 7726.

Sunny Dave //I now habitually press whichever number connects me to the scammer// Pressing 1 usually connects you to a premium (expensive) number.

I normally wouldn't have answered the call but I'm expecting my dentist to phone.
Danny (@ 14:22) - you are perpetuating an urban myth.

It’s nonsense that pressing a digit on a phone keypad while on what was an incoming call can magically connect you to a premium rate number - it is simply impossible.
