is it possible to have cartilage growth at the knee joint after 50 years of age?

Although not relevant to the knee, I have just been to see a specialist regarding a deviated central septum in my nose and some problems that go with it. Amongst other things, he told me that the condition was worsening, as cartilage keeps growing throughout your life. Maybe this also applies to the knee...I hope so as I have no cartilage left in my right knee due to years of squash playing...!

At present i'm suffering with cartilage problems in the knee, still waiting to see the consultant, but my GP thinks it might need clipping, that last, sounds as if it might still be growing.

Forgot to mention, i'm 56.
