Why is it that some people stare at you like you've got three heads whether you're walking around town or sat in a restaurant? Don't want to sound completely paranoid, but sometimes it's the most annoying and irritating thing! Does anyone feel the same way? (I hope I'm not the only one).

I used to get this a lot when I was an extremely fat child, then when I was a pink haired punk.Hardly surprising really. However if you don't have vivid hair or something that makes you a little unusual visually, it could be that either the person/people concerned are not meaning to look at you but are lost in thought about the price of sprouts or their husband's hemorrhoid problem, or maybe they fancy you.
You're not alone - it happens to me too! I've been told I 'look like .. so and so...' or people at work will question me about my past because they're sure they know me from somewhere/sometime! Perhaps you look like someone famous or familiar to the people who stare at you! I agree though, it can be annoying and worrying!
I think the first answer is the one that fits. I confess to being a 'starer' although I really don't mean to be so! I am fascinated by people, and I am blessed with a rather intense stare, which to me is simply observing, but has got me into trouble more than once! I think people are probably just distracted, and you may find that when you move, their eyes don't follow you at all. If you try and avoid staring back - which makes things worse - and simply accept it as human nature, the phenomenon will probably cease to bother you.
Just a thought... have you counted to make sure you *don't* have three heads? The simplest explanation is sometimes the correct one!
