OK, I dont have long (about 6 weeks) and I want to lose a bit of the tum and tone up the pins.

Any suggestions as to a quick fix? Obviously cutting down the calories (bye bye Pinot), drinking lots of water and I was thinking a decent brisk walk nearly every day.

Anything else I can do? (And suggestions of a burkini or a head transplant have already been made and rejected as RUDE!)

I bet Barmaid is wishing she'd bought a glossy magazine by now.

There's always liposuction.
where are you off to ?
Of course its a faddy diet!! Your body needs carbs to survive! Even I have to eat a certain about of carbs these days although protein comes first.
I see a professional nurse and dietician once a month and they monitor my diet closely and they both recommend a balanced diet with carbs included (otherwise its not balanced)
The person you're going with has seen you naked!! Carry on as you are. They'll be loads of other people who don't have gym bodies. It's a holiday....no one will be judging you.

I'm a pool side observer. We sit at tables reading our books and people watching. We're not looking at their bodies....more like how much alcohol they're drinking :-)
Try cycling when you would normally drive. Before I had a car I cycled everywhere and had a mini six-pack, which is all covered with flesh now. (Not too bad though, I'm not humongous). I'm too lazy nowadays.
Go for the walks and don't eat sweets, chocs or cakes.
Weights would help too.
Weights work.

I used to do swimming training and our instructor put weights on our wrists and ankles to strengthen our muscles. So I'd suggest walking with weights.
It is NOT a faddy diet. Some people do not metabolise carbs as well as others.

Rice, pasta, wholegrains, bread and cereals all aggravate my IBS and make me bloat.

I echo what Pasta said, Carb-free is the quickest way to lose weight and BM has asked for a quick fix solution.
It is a faddy diet if you do not have a MEDICAL reason for avoiding carbs which you allegedly do!
Islay...I have read enough research over the past 5-6 years to know 1)it is not faddy, 2) is not only for medical conditions, 3) the body does not need carbs to survive.
If that's the case, why do I and many others experience better health...controlled blood sugar, less joint pain, etc.
I'll recommend some reading if you're interested.
It is NOT a faddy diet and many eminent Doctors believe our bodies are not built for the carb-laden diets we seem to favour in this day and age.

Chuntering on about a personal, if impressive life experience:

Not the same as being an expert in everybody else.
A couple of facts here:
6 weeks is too short a time for what you are looking for, so forget it.......it ain't going to happen.
Have YOUR normal 6 weeks ore-holiday is my advice...OR....if you don't like that then....cut out carbs, swim, walk or other exercise, go on a high protein diet and good luck to you.
To a sensible regime of dieting, over a longer and sustainable period then, I agree with Islay.......just cut down on carbs and protein and fat.
There you go.........
A PS...your body converts carbs to glucose for the brain to use...BUT it can just as easily convert protein.
minty's pink sauce.......?

That's a bit rude for those who research and read, and know many who have done the same by informing themselves of current ideas and the work done by eminent doctors and researchers.
pasta...I know your opinions, i have read your references......I appreciate and respect your opinion BUT:
The brain NEEDS glucose and it is designed to need it and the easiest, quickest way to get glucose is from carbs.
Yes...it can get it's glucose from protein , but it is slow and only uses this method when it is in dire straits......starvation.
That is my opinion.

Fads?
You already have a bikini body - just go out, buy a bikini and put it on.
Sqad, starvation only occurs when the body's entire reserves are depleted.
I eat carbs daily and I have no weight to lose.

btw...BM is not overweight, she just wants to tone.
