is it possible to have low blood pressure? They always talk about having high blood pressure, so I was wondering if it was possible to have too low blood pressure.

Hi minnisota,  yes it is possible to have low blood pressure (Hypotension), lack of sodium (salt) is one easy way to bring this on but read here for lots of info http://www.medicinenet.com/low_blood_pressure/article.ht m
i have very low blood pressure and my gp is stumped as to why i never feel faint! qapmoc seems to be right in the salt thing as i never add salt to my food during or after cooking as i dont like it! But, as i said i never feel faint and when i was pregnant i was fine too
I have very low blood pressure and do feel faint if I get up quick but on the whole it's fine.  I was always low in pregnancy too just like boobesque.  I did however have a bit of a problem when I had a section as I lost alot of blood and my diostolic?(the bottom number) went down to about 35 and i did have a few issues trying to stay conscious and get enough oxygen round me bod!  On the whole its fine to have low BP, but if you get sick or run into a medical emergency, you can be just as at risk as if you had very high BP.
p.s the way they fixed it (apparently, only got husbands word for it) was to whack me into ICU, put me on a bed with the foot end raised up and keep me on oxygen and they pumped with full with about 5 units of blood.  Not ideal, so yeah, it can be an issue.
