a young lad Brodie put out on social media for donations
so he could donate the money to buy Easter Eggs for
needy children. He collected 1,000 pounds in 4 weeks, and
so donated the money to the food banks who bought lots
of Easter Eggs for the children

Lots of people do nice things for others without wishing to be recognised for their efforts. When their efforts are recognised many wish to shrink into the background. Well done this young lad.

Well done Brodie. It's nice to see that young people do think of others. Real "feel good" story.

so it is, well done him.
Eggselent ;-)

Hope he hid them for the children to hunt for.
I wonder who took it to the papers?
I know of a little boy who every year for the last 3 years have given up his birthday, Easter, and his Christmas money also he gave up his 11plus money last year to a local animal shelter. But he does not advertise it - there is no need really is there!!

Well done this young lad.
My point is why did it go to the papers?
Is it so unusual for someone to do something nice that it warrants publicity?
If this makes your day well I'm glad for you!
No, it is not so unusual Islay.

But when a young person gets media attention for their efforts they deserve it.

I'm sure there are many "unsung heroes" on the face of the earth.
These stories are usually put into the papers by someone who thinks it deserves a mention. Could be a neighbour, Auntie, Uncle. Who knows?
I agree Emmie....a great story....more of these please !
Well done to him. Its nice to hear about people doing kind things for others. Wow!
And Butterbun, they are worthy of being recognised.

If only more people would help their fellow "persons" how good would this world be..

with the world going into meltdown, its nice to hear of stories like this.
We have some wonderful young people - well done to Brodie and all who help others.

to all those unsung hero's well done.
"...also he gave up his 11plus money"

What's 11plus money?
Money from family members when /if you pass your 11 plus, I didn't get money but a smart leather briefcase.
That is a lovely story for Easter, well done Brodie.
I didn't know they still sat the 11-plus. I thought it had been banned under the "all must have prizes" philosophy. You live and learn.

When I passed mine all I got was an extra brussel sprout for that night's dinner (because there were a few left over).
