I usually go to someone who has a tiny salon in her garage, she used to come to the house but decided to do it this way instead. I'd much prefer it if she still came to the house but I've stuck with her.
Tomorrow, for a number of reasons, I'm having to go to a proper salon which I hate. I like my hair chopped off as quickly as possible, no shampooing or blow drying, just a dry cut, maybe a quick squirt to dampen it down, job done. Wash and dry at home. Not all hair salons will do this as they don't like you walking out of their establishment looking like Worzel Gummidge.
Are you a quick in and outer, or do you enjoy the salon experience?

I enjoy the salon experience with the senior stylist - but I only go twice a year at most. I'd never dare let someone come and do it in my home.

Why Prudie?
every 4-5 weeks I go to a salon and have the ends cut ,no shampoo or drying , ,I have short hair and hate the just cut look so this way there's no difference x

Usually I do, it's easy, Number 4 all over, hair and beard, OH does line across back of neck, sorted.
My sons GF and my daughter are both hairdressers.
I don't like salons, I hate sitting in front of the mirror for that long.

My OH won't let me clipper his hair. I don't know why.

I have short hair too mally, had it like this for years, and have a six week regular appointment.
Baldric, if I had the nerve, or if it was more widely accepted, I'd have mine like yours, a quick whizz over with OHs beard trimmer, no fuss or faff.
My OH, cos he's a barber ;) Shall lose it all when I start chemo though :(

Who, Same fella for last twelve years Grade 5 on top, Grade two back and sides... and if a bit Noel Gallagher-sh quick trim of eyebrows job done.
You might not, Baths, my aunty didn't. (although I don't know if there are different types of chemo)
I go to a barber's up the road from my office every Friday for a Number One and my eyebrows trimmed.

I have little hair left now, but even when it/'s seriously short, if it grows out at all, it curls - I had wonderful long curly hair years ago!

I have been going there since it opened six years ago, I know the team, and we have a good laugh.

When time permits, I also love a shave on a Friday. My local Muslim barber does a face massage, three minutes lather, cut-throat shave, water spray, aftershave, nivea rub and another massage - takes about twenty minutes, costs £4. Serious bargain.
I go to a different salon each time depending on funds. I usually get groupon deals. I hate paying to get my hair caur, and usuallt only get it done twice or 3 times a year, and i trim the fringe myself
Yeah ummm. The Macmillan nurse told me that if they use just the one type, them I won't lose it. If they use a "double" one, then I will :(
Have got apptmnt with Oncologist on Mon, he will probably tell me what the score is....

Fingers crossed...
if your hair is important to you, some hospitals have the use of a cold cap while having chemo, to minimize hair loss
Thanks ummm.
Yep bednobs, shall certainly look into that.

I go to the same hairdresser i have been going to for years. The lady who owns it is lovely. She takes and trains apprentices, they go to college on day release and one and all they are expert at their job. She also teaches them proper friendly polite customer service, they listen to what you are saying and give you the style you want not what they think you should have...if what you want won’t work then they will explain why and help you to decide what would work. I have got thinning hair which I like to keep short and cut in a shower and go styleso not the easiest job to do something flattering but they do.

And there was me thinking most of you would have a cut and blow dry every week :)
I'd love to be a quick in and outer as they talk so bloody much. But I like Elaine!!!
I have a hairdresser come to my house. I hate salons and having to make small talk with someone I barely know so it suits me down to the ground. No trying to park or rushing home to do dinner or wasting a Saturday morning getting my hair done. She does the kids hair while she here as well so it's a double bonus for me.
