Given the size of the pie and the fact it is chunks of beef and not mince, it sounds about right.

Do pies like this heat OK in a microwave? Isn't the pastry going to be soggy?

I wouldn't microwave any pie, I find the pastry is too rubbery - but yes, that timing sounds correct for a big meat pie.
As it states it is microwaveable on the packaging then I presume it has been tested - they have been making pies for many years.
Perhaps the pastry has been "formulated" to be microwaveable...rather than tasty?
Well I haven't tried one, but if Hollands make pies that aren't tasty after all this time do you think they are ready to give up the business?

I adore their steak and kidney puddings.
I wouldn't mind betting that on the box it says something like...."for best results, heat in oven".

Same with all their pies- their meat and potato states 2 minutes, lucky if they get beyond a minute in my microwave.
Hollands Pies sent Lancashire Food a few samples of their recently launched Steak and Guinness pie for taste testing...

"For the purposes of taste testing the pie was cooked both in the oven and in the microwave following the instructions on the box. In both cases the flavour of the filling was good, the gravy rich with only a slight hint of the classic Guinness flavour. The pie did contain chunks of steak but also some shredded steak as well with a good quantity of gravy. The oven baked pie's pastry was crispy and crumbly and was the much preferred pie, but the one microwaved was soggy and a little rubbery."
Not very good quality vid, but I think we talking late 70s
