Left eyelid has dropped, it impairs vision & makes me sleepy; son thinks I had a stroke (only Kylie gets that lucky).

I need to pinch my eyebrow to fully open the eye else I doze off. Eye make up is now impossible on this eye.

Do you think it will rectify itself....or, maybe a brow piercing ?

Yes, a few days ago but eases off throughout the day.
If you feel there is a possibility you have had any form of stroke you should see your GP. It is quite common for a person to suffer a second one.
You need to see your GP without delay and be examined, as it has come on fairly quickly.
There are many causes for this, and examination and or tests are needed to get a diagnosis.
Are you going to make a GP appointment, Tambo? I think it's important that. you do.
Possible 'mini stroke' you need to see the GP urgently.
...or possibly a droopy eyelid due to muscle fatigue. Eitherway it needs treating and a visit to GP.
You need to see your GP Tambo!
Maydup its the refrence to it causing sleepyness that is worrying, fatigue would not cause that. tamborine if you can't get a GP this morning go to A&E !
It is not a stroke...mini or otherwise.

Many causes, mainly no big deal.

See your GP with a routine appointment.
I agree with sqad that there are many causes for this, and one of the most likely is muscle weakness due to age. However this usually comes on gradually.

I also agree that a stroke is not the most likely cause. But it cannot be excluded without taking a full history and examination. It certainly cannot be excluded over the internet.

The advice for sudden onset of a drooping eyelid is that one should seek medical advice promptly.

? ptosis. see gp.

Thnx all, took an aspro & nodded off but it was early...
Bell's Palsy?
I don't think Bells Palsy just effects the eye.
It also affects the mouth and the eye would be watering too.
