I know some will say I'm making a mountain out of a molehill but I just can't understand why ABers are still helping somebody who has never said please, thank you or responded to any questions in 2 years! 530+ questions,2 answers.I suppose I'll be told to mind my own business -if people want to encourage or should I say ignore bad manners I suppose it's up to them. Ed will probably point out out that we shouldn't necessarily expect thanks. It has been nicely put to this person several times that a response would be appreciated but still no response.Pity questions couldn't be removed! Just joking.

Come on quinie, name names!
Next time you answer, just add, don't forget to say thankyou. Because if you don't add that with your answer, they probably won't return later and won't see your final comment.
name names, please
Bloody hell Quinie, your asking something here arn't you? if some idiots can not follow a game here they start moaning & get the game pulled, so there's not much chance of a thank you, anyway thank you for your post, it's a point of issue.
This comes up regularly. We all have a free choice over which questions we answer.
There are some posters I no longer answer and also if any question is too hard to understand or badly laid out I usually pass it by.
Hi quinie, foo's yer doos?
No you are not joking quinie or you wouldn't be letting this get to you .
Personally speaking I always thank people especially for Xword stuff which is what I presume you are alluding to .
Life is far too short to worry about it .I answer ..hopefully it's right and that's that .
What does annoy me far more than those who don't say thank you are the busy bodies who run about saying ..duplicate thread ..put your answers in one post ..easily googled .. answered previously ..use the search facility .....blah blah blah .
I find that even more rude and extremely patronising !
I think it is rude of a person to ask a question and not say at least please can someone help and close by saying thank you in advance. It is also nice afterwards to name names by thanking those particular people who have helped.;)
some people were dragged up
It is puzzling, although in some cases posters genuinely didn't seem to know how to post on their own threads (it might seem obvious once you've done it but some just don't realise), and it seems that for some older browsers the 'submit' button doesn't appear when a poster tries to reply. But generally it's bad manners, although if people keep answering maybe they don't see a need to change.
quinie.....I support and agree with you entirely.

I have a little notebook in my head of ABers that are a waste of time to answer............so I don't.
Although it's nice to get a 'thank you' I get more frustrated with posters who don't respond when we submit a query about their question (e.g. clarification of known letters).
i think a reply of acknowledgement/appreciation is the least you should expect!

yes, people are rude!
Yes, quinie, acknowledgement please! ;-)
quinie - I love your question title - Is This A Record?

Fits in nicely with the Daily Record eh? Wink, wink!
I always try to revisit my posts and thank people for their answers / input.
You really ought to be more careful when choosing a title for your post else some silly little sod will come along with the following:

"Let's Twist Again!" ( Chuby Checker, Parlophone, 1964).

"Is This A Record?"
Even his/her 2 answers were not in fact thank yous or acknowledgements- one was a curt "no good" comment in response to a suggested answer, and the other was a "come on" plea as no answers had been given.
I'll ask on his latest question today whether he/she ever sees our replies
might one ask who it is?
Can you really be bothered factor ... to chase people up just because they don't respond in the way you think they should .I can't be arsed .
I've got better things to do with my time .
It's like some bad mannered git not saying thank you when you hold the door for them .Do you run down the street after them and berate them ?
I just shrug and hope the door slams in their face one day .You all take this far too seriously :)
