go to the cold weather payment site, type in your postcode and it will tell you

Doesn't the temperature have to be 0 or less for 7 consecutive days before the payment comes into effect?

The weather has to be below a certain temperature for 7 days solid before they will payout and you have to already be on benefits.They don't rush to send the payment out though.
