thanks. the burning is only there when i am laid on my back in bed but seems to go off a little if rubbed
Not sure what you mean by a trapped nerve.....the only way one can treat this is by surgically "untrapping " it.

I would certainly try Ibuprofen 400mgms three times a day as it sound muscular, based on the sparse information given.

sorry....you know me.....start to panic at the smallest thing. I suppose thinking about it all the time doesn't do any good neither.
hollie ;-)
When I had pains running down my thigh (still happens on occassion) the only advice the GP gave was to lose weight. Yes I know they say that anyway as if it was something I didn't want to do in any case, but they insisted it was the cause of the nerve giving pain. Can't recall the exact words used, but I came away with the impression the extra bulk was pressing on it somehow.

Now you will tell me that you are as thin as a rake :-D
I also recall them saying that nerve problems aren't affected much by painkillers, which seemed odd to me at the time.

lol old geezer....quite the opposite to 'thin as a rake' more like 'fat as a hippo' lol

Come to think of it, I put my back out about 3 months ago and it did seem to start after that. Does this have any bearing?
