Is it true that alchoholism is defined as a disability for the purpose of awarding Disability living allowance?

DLA dosen't define disability as such.
it looks at what care you need, and what help you need with walking - it dosen't make a distinction as to what causes you to have these problems really. So for example, somebody who need the middle level of care could have anything from Amputation, arthritis, cancer, ms, mnd and so on
Yes, as is drug addiction, anorexia and OCD
but only if they cause problems with self care or mobility
