Did anybody see the make/name of the light box which was shown on Embarrassing Bodies on Ch4 recently? Would love to have one but don't want to spend money on something that doesn't work or that I won't use! Has anyone used a 'SAD' box that worked for them?
Many Thanks

like you wheaten, i am very interested in the box for SAD , but am wary of spending so much money, on something that is useless or rarely used,

Right, sorted! Am going to take the dogs out for a walk in the wind/rain and then put a very old record on the player (vinyl, not CD) dance around and sort out my drawers!
Doesn't cost a thing and makes me feel better already! Maybe I should market it.
Come on Floyd & Lexi, Walkies!
Love Wheaten.
I saw the programme and saw the name of the company which was something like sadbox.co.uk, I just Googled it to be sure though and found on Martin's money saving tips, people saying that you don't need to invest in an expensive box, just buy a full spectrum or daylight bulb which are readily available in places like Tesco for less than £10 and put it in and ordinary lamp and sit as close as you can bear for approx 30 mins in the morning, best not to use after 7pm as it can leave you feeling agitated and then you won't sleep at night. There are also health issue to be taken into account, anyone with epilepsy or those with eyes which are sensitive to light. I haven't tried this, so cannot say if this info is correct, just merely passing it on.
I watched that episode of Emb Bod's and the lightbox woman was an unconvincing subject IMO - she was determined to have a lightbox, went in asking for it, was highly clued up about her symptoms and about SAD, and experienced a miracle cure within seconds of switching it on. I wondered if in addition her bank account became a bit fatter courtesy of the the lightbox firm?
This one has a money back guarantee :

I have been using the full spectrum bulbs in my overhead lights for two years now. It has revolutionised my winters. Only trouble is the light is really horrible for normal use. so have to have a lamp to turn on after I have had my dose. they are also available online and are not very expensive. My company bought me a lightbox to use at work. It worked as well but had a horrible humming noise.
