I have a birthday coming up in October. The BF can't think what to buy me - I'm thinking along the lines of a week away in a boot camp somewhere nice (Spain would do, though it's more likely to be this country...)

Anyone know of any reputable ones? I don't want some military-style one where they shout at you til you cry - I don't want it too harsh cos of my heart which is not as strong as it should be, and I want plenty of food & wine in the evenings...as a reward. Just one where the camaraderie is good, the instructors are nice & where I can drop at least one dress size and inches of fat.

Are you mad woman! A Boot Camp for your birthday! Why dont you just book a really nice hotel within easy reach of lovely walks and country activities...Best of both worlds
plenty of food and wine and you want to drop a dress size, what do you think we are miracle workers????

But we do nice hotels and restaurants, country pursuits & walks all the time mazie. I think I need something brutal and drastic to shake me out of my lazy lifestyle.
There's quite a few around these days, the local one I tried is good. And I don't get shouted at even though I am rubbish and can't run down the railway track to get to the assault course (Yes it is an ASSAULT course as it has a water jump - or it would be an obstacle course). Some of them do packages for people like brides and people who want to get a bikini body in so many weeks etc. I must admit I felt disappointed in myself the first time. Felt better about it the next day and after the pain wore off and I could manage stairs without holding on to the bannister I thought I might give it a go again :0)
Sounds if you want an old-boot camp salla. There's one every Fri night in Barnsley town centre. LOL
a clean weekend with vibes !!!

Question Author
Mexico, yes. Now you're talking.

When I say booooooot camp, maybe more of a velvet ankle boot camp... Or flip-flop camp?
Oi Chuck!

Flip Flop camp, how very.....errrrm camp!
god imagine a group booking, the instructors would end up crying
I was just curious. I didn't know there was one round this area.
I nearly did 4get - purely because I did not realise how weak and unfit my body is. Especially after years of gymnastics and all sorts. Chin ups/pressups etc etc were never a problem so it was a bit of a reality check
