Hi all, do any of you have any info regarding B12 deficiency. What are the side effects of this, and do B12 supplements, or aloe vera juice help. Thanks.

The internet is full of contradictory 'information' (much of which is total rubbish) when it comes to any medical issues. So I've taken care to provide you with a link to a reliable source of genuine (i.e. factual) information, NHS Direct.

This is the first of several pages of information. Click the links, at the foot of each page, to read the whole article:

Thanks Chris that very helpful.
Not as all embracing as Buenchico's answer, BUT:
Vit B12 is cyanocoblamine and is necesarry for certain blood cell formation. Lack of B12 causes Pernicious Anaemia which at one time was treated by eating a pound of raw liver a day. Liver because it containd B12 and raw, becuase B12 is destroyed by cooking. Injections of B12 are now given perhaps once a fortnight. With Buenchicos link you will get all the causes of B12 deficiency.
B12 suppliments and Aloe Vera, waste of time and money.
I am sure my doctor once gave be vitamin B12 because i was supposedly stressed from work, but could be wrong.

Thanks for the advice. I really dont think she will manage raw liver every day!!!!
I did buy the B12 supplement ysterday, so might as well use it and not expect too much.
I just assumed that any extra B12 would be beneficial. My daughter has had 4 injections in a fortnight, but now they will be every 3 months, so just trying to boost her up! I had never heard of this before, so its good to hear the experiences of others. Any info is appreciated.
I and my whole family have B 12 deficiency, my family require B12 injections every six weeks or so i get away with taking a daily tablet of Cyanocobatamin. It becomes more apparent as you get older and your gut becomes incapable of absorbing B 12 from natural sources like eating B12 enriched food, it can be analysed by having a simple blood test for sure it needs attention i would seek medical advice
