I have recently found out that a friend of mine is injecting steroids (i gather theres alot of different types sorry i dont know which one - all they said is its the lowest form and just helps the muscles work harder and reciver quicker????). I have read about steroids in general on the web and am getting more and more worried...
.....my question is....can someone JUST STOP (putting addiction aside - i mean physically and health wise) or are they bound to finishing say a 12 week course???

The sooner he stops the better.
He is putting his physical health at risk, affecting vital organs including liver, kidneys and prostate and his mental health will suffer too.

yes he can stop straight away. There are mental effects but physically the body will benefit almost immediately.
Gawd know why these guys pump themesleves full of this sh1t, it does similar damage to the organs to large amounts of boozing.

Both the above are right. BUT, don't be too alarmist when trying to confront / assist your friend.
Approach your local substance misuse service (may be called Drug & Alcohol - NHS) and ask if they have a specialised steroids service - it's a growing field.

Thanks All I REALLY appreciate it.
I think I may have finally convinced him to stop but the type of drug it is it seems to take over the mind and I fear it is turning him into something of a liar.....so how do I know he says he has stopped but then still continues in secret????
