i am 38 and over the past 6 months my periods have become irregular. sometimes a week later, other times start normally but then continue for two weeks, other times normal. could this be menopause or something else? i dont have a GP and really don't want to have to see one but need to know if this could be a problem. i feel fine in myself although my daughter says i have mood swings!

anything could be wrong, you should get yourself a doctor and make an appointment to see him even if he says nothings wrong, you dont have to see him again do you!
could be the start of peri-menopause, which is the years leading up to menopause when your hormones start to disappear. it can, and typically does, go on for 10 years or so. google up 'healthboards' and you'll find a lot of information about it.
best to see your gp though and put your mind at rest.
This is happening to me too ! Im 39 and my periods are all over the place! My last one I had a 43 day interval - then was only on for 2 days, then a 15 day internval and I was on for 5 days ! Cant keep up with it...have seen doc who said it was normal for a woman of my age! Charming!
