Beer nose

After beer, I find my nose gets horribly congested.

My sister was recently advised to avoid dairy products and other mucus-forming food that cause her nasal and ear problems and it has been very successful.

So that I don't have to survive on a diet of rice milk and no beer, can anyone recommend "mucus-destroying" food? Food that will help relieve congestion etc once I have it? e.g. the night after a few beers.

Sadly, with chronic rhinitis, where there is inflammation on the lining of the nose caused by an irritant, in your case, alcohol, the cure is avoidance. So, it's blocked noses in the morning or no alcohol.
You could try changing your tipple? Some beers/lagers may use different ingredient.. wine for example should be fine. You could also give up dairy and then you may not find the congestion is AS bad after beer. I gave up dairy/wheat/sugar/salt/meat/alcohol for 6 months doing a detox, and it is easy once you know what to eat!
