About a week after Mic was admitted to hospital I developed what I can only call as cold sores across my top lip (never had them before) The pharmacist gave, I mean sold me some cream and after about 9 days they were gone.
About 2 weeks ago I noticed a swelling under my left eye, when I pulled down the skin below my eye I noticed a yellow blip. Back to the chemist, the same pharmacist sold me an eye drop called Brolene and told me to use it for a least 4 days. I have now used it for 8 days and although the yellow blip has gone I still have the swelling under my eye.
This may or may not be relevant but my hair which is and always has been very fine is also coming out. Clumps of it. At this rate I am going to need a wig.
Any ideas?

I may be shot down by real medicos but I believe stress can indeed play a factor, also you may not be eating properly and your whole system gets a bit low.

Easy to say look after yourself but hard in practice I know.

I'm in no way qualified to comment on this Jeza, but it very much sounds like stress to me, and by god are you under it at the moment.
I can only offer kind words, that is all. I sincerely hope you start feeling a bit better soon. xx

I am not eating properly Mamya, but I am trying. I just wish Mic was home.
Hello Jeza, I have not posted before on your threads but I have been reading them and keeping up with your situation at the moment and my heart goes out to you. Stress can manifest itself in many different ways and I think that this is what is happening to you now. It is easy for others to say you must do this or that but it is very important that you take just a little time out every day to eat a proper meal, some fruit perhaps or even cereal and fruit in the mornings, also this may sound daft but if there is a park near you can you just take 10 or 15 minutes out of your day to just sit on a bench, feed the ducks, whatever and give yourself just a little time to think and relax. I do know what you are going through, this happened to me about 20 years ago. Best of luck. x
Hi Jeza, stress is odd. My hair is currently coming out in clumps, I swear it's related to when himself was poorly (which is nothing to what you are dealing with). Easier said than done, but try to look after yourself, you're no good to anyone if you are poorly, x

Thanks for the advice puss. If Mic could he would say hello to doc, so I'll say hello for him. He liked doc despite all that has been said about him.

I know you have been through the mill too sherr. At least we do not have children that would also suffer.♥
A lot has been said Jeza, but by people who twist the truth, you have no idea, anyway if you get the chance tell Mic that the Doc wishes him well. x

Will do Puss ♥
Jeza - have you had a recent traumatic experience or series of stressful events including emotional? From what you say I expect so and it is important to look after yourself - relaxing etc etc to counteract the stress, + realise that you need to give yourself alot of slack because you are having a bit of a challenging time and more so because of this - its very important OK.

I would get your thyroid checked out too (thyroid function test - this blood test needed) as "stress" can have an effect on the immune system and thyroid conditions are auto immune disorders.

GP's are not always good at noticing them. Hair falling out and a "shot" immune system (cold sores) kinda go to indicate immune system is down and in your case I think its far too much stress you are under. Now if you get it checked it may only be a temporary thing (dont worry) but you may need certain meds to help you get better. Getting tested will do no harm. Put yourself first.

Sometimes you can get weight fluctuating too - losing it quicker than before or putting it on & cant shift it or find that you are more sensitive and less resilient than normally so depression can rear its head. This may or may not make sense and may not be happening to you but thought I'd mention. There is a chance too that you may not notice unless its mentioned to you.

If you are a strong type holding everything together you would probably not take stock unless your body told you!!. Not knowing when to slow down is typical too and you may take took much on but think its normal for you. I'm not saying it is this but could very well be.

It has probably been building up for a while and its now time to look after yourself properly Jeza... Some stress is good for you but yours no - you need lots of pampering right now - whatever it takes I'd say.

all good wishes & take care
Jeza you have to look after yourself as well as Mic xx
