That's high. Is there anything else wrong with you?

no not managing my diabetes I have type 2 I keep on thinking I am going to die at any minute. I have really bad anxiety as well
giving up sugar and eating properly will improve your anxiety a lot. stay strong and dont buy sugary crap, it will only make you feel terrible.
I know I am pointing out the obvious but you HAVE to manage your diabetes better than this. Life is precious and your life is in your own hands.
If you are struggling, why not make an appointment to see your diabetes nurse?
Dad's was up to 40+ after chemo...has to take huge amounts of insulin afterwards...
gordie, this may sound harsh but do I really need to point out all the problems you are storing up for yourself?

No I have had a real wake up call I never slept last night but thinking logically if they thought it was really life threatning they would have admitted me . I feel really shaky but not slept and very anxious Im trying to do CBT and think it is anxiety and not DKA. Surely after 12 hours nothing to eat my sugars should be better
Small regular meals through the day...watch things with hidden sugar like fruit...don't smoke..and see your diabetes nurse like Mrs o said....future probes...eyesight poor circulation that can result in amputation...organ failure......be sensible...do the right thing....
Don't you have your own blood testing kit?
gordie....I have tried to keep off your threads since yesterday, but exasperation has taken over.

You have NOT got diabetic ketoacidosis..........now settle down.
Wotcha Sqad !.....diabetics just somehow don't ever want to play the game do they ? It's not rocket science...follow the rules and you'll be fine....
I'm a diabetic, Murraymints, I play by the rules - I didn't ask for it and I don't want it. Thanks for the offence.
pipin - do you think you are the only person on here with a medical condition? Diabetes is manageable, some folks on here have life limiting conditions. Get over yourself
Question Author
thank you sqad is 21 really disastrous or could it be worse?
No offence meant pippin...but diabetes is controllable..many diabetic folks think it's ok to cheat though and are surprised at the consequences...
No, I'm not but it's a little bit stereotypical to tar all diabetics with the same brush. I'm well over myself, thank you. I'm sorry but I just found that a bit offensive. I think I have a right to point out that some diabetics do play by the rules.

Well I am going to now I have a lot of friends who are type 2 and really sensible and they are being very hard with me today and I deserve it. I am going back to bed not slept at all last night no bar of chocolate is worth all this worry or kidney problems or heart problems I am chosing life.
Pipin, if you play by the rules then good on you. I know so many diabetics who don't and I have seen the consequences that murray pointed out.
No one asks for an illness but you have to deal with it as best you can, as you are doing.
No problem, Murraymints. I do agree that some diabetics do cheat but, as a diabetic, honestly it's amazing how many people just assume that diabetics brought it on themselves. It's not always the case and, like I say, some people do take it seriously. I only wish the Government could manage the economy half as well as I manage my diabetes. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to snap but sometimes, it's a real effort. Have a great weekend, my apologies again.
I am not diabetic and have no experience of diabetes but can a bar of chocolate make a difference between life and death? I am being serious here. I really know nothing about the condition apart from the fact it's to do with blood sugars.
