Don't worry pip all's well...a bar of choc can cause huge probs to a diabetic Tilly..especially older type 1....
Thank you, murraymints. I didn't realise that.
...............and thank you mrs_O. I'll read that later.
I am a Type 1 and have tried diabetic sweets and choccy but they're the devil's own gift aren't they?? I don't know if it's any help but I bulked my meals out with spring cabbage and brocolli. I should get the MBE for my services to the British vegetable growing industry but, hey, it works for me. Haven't had Cadbury's in over five years. It's a bind but one can do it.
What a great site Mrs O...going to show it to dad..
have you had your metformin today, gordie?
Question Author
yes
pipin, I wish more were like you.
My best friend's daughter is in total denial and is already starting to lose here eyesight
Pip..bet you have a nice healthy colon though !
Thank you, Mrs O. You were spot on before though, it's a simple choice. Do you want to eat more cabbage or chocolate, etc and lose both feet, go blind, etc.

It's a no brainer and I sympathise with anyone who contracts diabetes but no one else can manage it for you.

But nothing will ever make me love metformin - the side effects are grim in the extreme, socially at least !!

Hope England can lift the Calcutta Cup later today and I'll be happy!!
Diabetes may be a sentence but my colon is not part of it!!! lol
By the way, Mrs O - love the photo.

Julie Walters is my non i-pod "guilty pleasure" - there's really something twinkly-eyed about that particular lady. Damned fine actress too.
Have a great day pip my friend..xx
Pipin, I bet you have a lovely colon lol

It cannot be pleasant having diabetes but there are far, far worse conditions to have. As the old saying goes, there is always someone worse off than yourself
You too, Murray. I really do apologise for having a pop earlier but the wish to dive into a cream cake, choccy, etc never goes away. I guess it's a bit like being a recovering alcoholic.
Mrs O, yeah there are. Most definitely.
G + T..for me please .....lol. x
Mrs O,

The old Arabic proverb "I cried because I had no shoes, until I saw a man who had no feet" seems singularly appropriate at this juncture.
