Cortisone Injections

I have had a Cortisone injection in my shoulder this morning for tendonitis. It was very painful when the doctor put it in. It hurts worse than ever now. Is this normal? Will it settle down?

Yes, this is not unusual and will settle.

Take some Ibuprofen 600mgms in one go (3*200mgm tablets) and that should ease your pains.
I asked this last year when I had one in my elbow. Perfectly normal. It should settle down by tomorrow. I took co-codomol for the pain, but just take whatever you have if you feel you need to.
yes it will I had them for tennis elbow helped in the short term !
Yes and yes. And it's a flaming sight better than tendonitis.
vodkancoke.......blimey, your avatar is turning me right on.......
Lol that was the intention Sqad! ;)
I had one Monday in my bum for general inflammation rather than in a joint. Sure there was something on a similar thread before and I think maybe different and more painful when in a joint? Both the ones I've had were pretty painless save a little bit of a sting when it went in. The first one one of the specialist nurses did I hardly even felt!

Maybe it's my well padded behind though :)
I had one in my left shoulder in Jan 2012 I was very suprised it did not hurt like everyone said it would & it has worked very well hope it settles down soon
