The Chest Hospital have said that Fabrice Muamba has been able to breathe without the aid of a Ventilator. He has managed to say a few words in both English and French and has recognised some of the visitors to his bedside.
I know the kid has got a long way to go to recover, but the longest journey starts with one small step. I just pray that he continues to improve gradually and the experts wil ldo everythign in their power to help him.
I may not be popular for asking this but why is everyone so interested in the state of health of a man they had probably never heard of, until he was taken ill?
Because nobody wishes someone in the prime of their life (whether famous or not) to go through this surely? The fact that it was drawn to most people's attention via the media raised awareness.
I am interested because I was watching the game and saw the drama unfold. Not only that, but he is so young and it seems unbelievable that such a fit man should have a sudden heart attack. I cannot imagine what has gone on in his body to create it and I hope that he will manage to conquer it. I would feel this about any young person, not only because he is famous.
It was upsetting to see such a fit young man suffering. The people who acted quickly to resuscitate him on the pitch have obviously saved his life. It is now a matter of healing time for him.
Hopefully it will inspire more people to learn CPR if nothing else.
Middle of the chest and go for it to the tune of staying alive or smooth criminal, if you're interested.
Lets thank God for a slight recovery - prayers have been answered. I am amazed that everyone is saying "Pray for Fabrice" - it just shows we call on God naturally in times of extreme distress, whether we are Christians or not. Fabrice is a committed christian and goes to an evangelical church.
I'n afraid I have to agree with Hopkirk. I don't wish this man any harm obviously, but I'm more concerned right now over a close relative of mine who is battling cancer than somenody I have never heard of until now. Just being honest.
Well of course you are , and now that you have told us -I too am hoping the very best for your loved one. That is the point, our compassion and care goes to those we know about.
I pray for the very best outcome for your family member.
