Yes, lankeela, go to the doc - ask for a referral to a podiatrist who is the expert on foot conditions. You've tried everything - but the other thing you could do is show your feet to the local pharmacist at your chemist, there might be other over the counter preparations he could suggest, before you go down the prescription medication route. He too would tell you if you would be better going to the GP.

Its worth giving the doc a look at it. Mrs S had a foot problem which turned out to be fungal and was given pills which worked well. Unlike our vets they come free too, lol.

I used to have a similar problem, I started bathing my feet in warm too hot water with a good slosh of dettol in it. (After work). That killed all the nasties on the skin of my feet. DO NOT scratch 'cos if you break skin and the bacteria get inside and under the skin you could be in for a lot of painful trouble. Get to the docs as soon as. If you want a podiatrist go privately. My nearest NHS clinic has an eight week waiting list. Dettol smells good after a while.

Sounds like a severe fungal infection .Thick socks and boots won't help and trainers are even worse for these sort of conditions .Your feet get sweaty and then it's a vicious circle .Go barefoot as much as you can .Get the air to your feet .
Try dusting your feet liberally with Lanacane Talcum powder after washing them and before you don the boots ..It may stop the itching . Make sure you dry properly between the toes . If all else fails then I would see a doctor . |

Thanks all, I wondered if there might be some sort of tablet for it. I KNOW I shouldn't scratch them but oh the relief! Best place is the tap when lying in the bath - I can get a real good scratch going on the rough surface! Will try all suggestions again then check with the doctor if nothing works.

Try bathing with some warm water into which you have dropped 6-10 drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil, this can be obtained very easily in Superdrug or Wilkinsons, or any healthy type shop. May well help.

I also get intense itching on the soles of my feet or on the toes (pads not the nail side) also sometimes on the ball of my foot. Its nothing fungal or a rash but its inward so I guess its nerve endings, its so itchy for about 15 mins its pure agony, I have to drag my foot along the carpet or press my sole really hard to get any relief. It soon goes away then its ok for a week or two, then its back again - I know its nothing serious I just have to live with it.
I asked the question before http://www.theanswerb.../Question1043930.html |
