Is this ever to become a reality in the average house?

I am aware of holographic technology and transitional glass, but not how it could change in a predefined method such as demonstrated.

There wasn't much in there that made me think it wouldn't be possible, in fact a lot of it would be possible now.

some of it seems unlikely though, I can see no reason for large format high res displays as motorway gantry signs, unless someday they want to spend a fortune on distracting drivers. Also, although a display on a bus shelter as they indicated could probably be done with today's tech putting several thousands of pounds worth of display in a bus shelter is just asking to get it broken.

Additionlly, the little handheld displays which are clear when not in use is possible now but in their example they seem to have left no room for the electronics, or more importantly, a power source.

A lot of the Surface stuff is already being done, check out microsofts surface

Or samsungs see through screens

But what a sad world, where it's impossible to get through the first 10 minutes of the day without fiddling with a phone, telly, or computer screen of some description.
I can't watch the video but we already have info screens at the bus shelters round here. They are all touch pad so you can find out which bus is due when, etc.

These aren't just as the stations but also at the little stops in the villages and towns.
