pleaes, please help me. after many years of suffering (especially in this heat!) and many, many 's spent i still have very greasy skin which causes spots (i'm now in my 30's) and melts make up off my face quicker than ice cream in the sun. i have tried roaccutane (not going there again - although it stops the spots) am currently on minocycline and use simple oil-free face goo and boots no7 make up. have tried most products out there and am just at a loss to know what to do anymore - is really getting me down, though. any suggestions: a) to stop it or b) to cover it up would be greatly appreciated. give me the benefit of your wisdom, ladies! tia x

I am not sure I can offer practical help,hun....But i had fairly oily skin when I was younger-still do really and I am twice your age. I just stopped wearing any foundation except as a base for eye makeup and lippy. You may be better off letting your skin breath as all the 'stuff' may be contributing to the problem. I know I found Clinique oil-free foundation to be good many years ago-you could give that a go. It is a long way off...but you will find that when you get to middle-age you will probably have a LOT fewer lines and wrinkles than other women your age...and you will get great satisfaction from that!!..x

cheers pasta - if only that would happen! maybe a bit of grease will be worth it then! what i'm really interested in is things like cleansers/moisturisers to keep my skin clear and the not put make up on if possible. haven't done that for years, so need to be confident...
I'm currently using Angels on Bare Skin as a cleanser and Enzymion as a face cream, from Lush. They are both fantastic!
I have combination skin, and they've dramatically changed the condition of my skin. I hardly ever get oily patches anymore, which means a lot less spots too!
Plus, you can go in the shop and ask for free samples before you buy, and the shop assistants are usually very helpful and will answer your qeustions, and advise you.
I'd definitely recommend it!

Oh, and make sure you don't use anything harsh on your skin. All the "anti-oil" products out there actually strip your skin of natural oils, which makes your skin produce even more. The key is to let your skin find its own balance. So, definitely no alcohol-based products, or harsh "teenage skin" cleansers.

max - you are the second person to recommend that face cream so i may well go and see in my local store if they will provide me with a little sample to test out (am fed up of spending 10+ on face stuff that doesn't work! i'd so like to get this sorted - thanks for the tip x

Thanks for the tip Max, may go and get some samples to try myself esp in this heat.

I use Clinique oil free moisturiser and it's very good.

If you go to a counter somewhere like Boots they will face it for you and give you some free samples of their 3 step face care tailored to your skin.

They quite often have promotions in Boots and I got some of their anti blemish toner and it's very good.

It's great to dab on a spot when it's painful.
Just use Wipes as often as necessary...........that'll soon remove the greasy feeling
