What's the conventional term used to say "I've cropped the image of this painting, but only slightly"?
Here's an example:
1) The Mona Lisa
2) The Mona Lisa (detail)
3) ...but how do I describe this kind of cut?
I can think of ways to say it, but my question is What would be the conventional term used in the art world. How would they phrase it in a catalogue from an exhibition.

Never seen Mark Gungor before, Vinny. There's a lesson in timing - I actually screamed with anticipation as he was slowly walking over to the female brain! And I definitely have an everything-box, ha ha ha! Bill Bailey I've seen on teve in a show called something with "troll"; I liked him a lot and searched YouTube afterwards for something he did involving... er... a spider speaking in Russian?Never did find it, if any of you know what I'm talking about please post it.

Me and my sister were talking about Cesar Millan, the dog whisperer, I was describing one particular YouTube clip to her and as I was talking about the dog in question I heard myself calling it the other dog: "...and then the other dog backed away from the bone, and..." - as if Cesar himself were a dog!

Hope you are all well.It's freezing here and we have got the heating on !
Piddling down with rain all morning and then an exciting trip on the free bus to Morrisons ..oooh it's all happening here y'know ....I can't move for the excitement of it all ....
Failing that and my visit to the doctor for the results of my foot and leg and my irritable insides I have nothing to report except that I have got to wear a supoort on my blasted leg .
