'When things go wrong, as they sometimes will and life's a struggle - all uphill...' Can anyone tell me the poem please? Not the cheeky version I found on a birthday card ! :-)

Oooh no...don't mention cannibals doing rain dancing ..I have just looked at Accuweather and it's more of the same for the next three weeks by the look of it .In fact they have forecast 50 mile an hour winds for the weekend and it drops to minus 2 on some nights .
I don't follow football ..but jolly well done to your team Jude . My men do things like this when Germany or Norwich are playing..They jump up and down and hug each other...must be some sort of man thing ! I don't think there is much hugging when Norwich play though as they seem to lose on a regular basis .Must be something Delia puts in the pies.

mum's blog - wed

Had an interesting morning cleaning the first floor of robi towers....

Mystery object rattled up semi-full vac...ne'er mind, it might be a nice surprise when I find it after sifting through all the fluff 'n dog hairs later

Whilst doing skirting board managed to suck up corner of wallpaper & from behind fell a large chunk of plaster. Plaster & paper now being held in place with blu-tac.

Pulled knob off wardrobe - probably due to the inventive way it was initially attached.....well, a biddy has to be creative when she only has 3 blunt screwdrivers that double up as paint stirrers & a pair of pliers with 'once molten' ends (don't ask) & a hammer that occasionally loses it's head...

miles covered - several...
...mostly up & down stairs to answer door...phone...let charlie out...let charlie in....answer non existent door-caller....give charlie final warning to stop bnggering about - it's not amusing.

lunch - oh no, chs again.
just checking if you can tell the time..hehe..!(:O)
oi.! who nicked the time of the last answer...it was there ....honest.....erm...its raining....must go and light me chiminea...(:O)

hehe, don't start me off again, I've been giggling about that all day...

oh well, time flies.....off in this case
Possums.

Awww, how endearing is that Paddington - thank you so much, Shaney. What's more, reading the Wikipedia entry I realize we have a thing or two in common, him and me - but I won't tell you which ones - ha! / Lest the rest of you will think Shaney whacky for sending me bears... and me for merrily accepting them... I'll just say that it did refer back to something I've said. (Explain further if you wish, Shaney.)

Neti we have an English Shop here too! Have a look at the way ours write their name, does it seem to you like they're the same company as yours? I come there mainly for their Twinings and Ahmad Darjeeling, for Marmite and for Dunoon mugs. Vinny, they have one with Devon motifs, Ilfracombe (not Woolacombe) is on it, and on the inside just below the rim there's a miniature picture called Beach Huts in Beer. A Vinny-vicinity-village called Beer?? I just cracked up...

Robinia! I think you should take your Woman's Weekly to "Tarquin" for a change: Stepford Swedes...! Indeed!
that was so uncalled-for, tarquin

(blixa and) nick again His voice is like a lullaby to me.
...now I want rooibos... (Darjeeling in the winter, rooibos when it's warm outside)... and anyway, the library is closing, so... see you!
In haste, have just had dinner with Roy Walker, well the husband is away and he was eating in the same place so we joined up. He's performing at the Ses Estaques Hotel tonight, so am rushing off to see him, have had a couple of big wines and am squiffy -

Oooh I say Neti you little devil !! Can someone tell me who he is please ? I hope you have got the correct leggings on !! You never know your luck ...hahahaha ! He may very well pick your brains on tatting !!!
I am being treated to Lynyrd Skynyrd at full blast at the moment...ooooh my aching head ...but I love..this
Glad you liked the Paddington link Kit ..,, do you like marmalade and have a battered hat ? I hope it isn't "hard stares and a capacity for getting into trouble " !!
To explain ...I have a Paddy money box which sits on a shelf in the kitchen ....it was in the background on a piccie I sent Kit which I would not dream of posting on here !
Evenin all...
hiya kip....I use to work in seaton as a breakfast chef at a holiday camp..many moons ago.And I use to walk to beer along the hilltops overlooking the sea.Brill little place with a stream running along the side of the road.

bonsoir peeps...
Kit Tarquin & his bro grew up with the threat of the W'sW & it never did them any harm.... well, apart from their phobia of magazine racks that is....

shaney ... Roy Walker = Catchphrase = reach for the zapper
sorry neti

Well I never said I liked him, but needs must, and Roger Taylor the drummer from Queen was at the next table making eyes at my daughter, so I very quickly took her home.

Accommodation Wanted

Temporary, low rent, low maintenance home urgently req'd for small group of bewitched, bnggered & bewildered biddies. Must be clean, warm, ideally have a jacuzzi & warm, fluffy towels but tin bath & a rub down with an oily rag considered. No flea pits or bogs thank you.

Morning all Hope all are well. I have really been made to count my blessings today. I have been to see a friend who hasn't been well after a stroke and it takes her all her time to remember who I am never mind about talk. I came away feeling so sad for her and her family. She has a lovely husband who does everything for her. We used to work together in a local paper shop for about 5 years and became really good friends.
Vinny I don't if I've told you but my son used to live in Seaton but has now moved to a town near by called Colyton. I bet you know that place too. I have also had a holiday in Beer many years ago. We stayed on the top of the hill in a Caravan. It poured with rain all week. My youngest son spent the whole week 'fossilling' on a beach nearby.
Sorry Robinia can't provide a new residence as I never go into other topics anymore. But I hope, like you say, it is somewhere cosy and warm. It's still bl***y raining over here.
It's my theatre trip tonight to see Pam Ayres. I don't know what to expcect as I have a friend who was on 'Crosswits' on tv and she was her partner and she said she hardly spoke to her before or after the show, and was a real snob. That sort of puts me off! Anyway see you all tomorrow and I can tall you how funny or not she was!! :o)

Afternoon peeps....just passing through
Yep I know colyton judeBut I remember it as a small village. When I use to work in the holiday camp in seaton I lived in a tent the whole summer hidden in the hills between axmouth and seaton. All the workers there use to call me the indian hahaha..!I use to start at 5 in the morning to prepare the breakfasts, and one day the head chef called me into his office and accused me of nicking food.I explained I didnt stay fer dinner,so took some food to cook outside my tent.He threatened to sack me,till I pointed out I had seen him and his brother in law loading up their van with stolen food from the kitchen early in the morning when I got there about 4.45.blimey...he treated me like a king after that..hehe..! catch you later dudes.(:O)
