I have heard it is very American...has anyone seen it yet? I love the old Python stuff-is this going to annoy me, or will old fans be pleased with how it 'lovingly rips-off' the film?

Also-is it sold out around xmas yet?

I reckon most new shows are sold out around xmas by now or certainly soon, the best way 2 find out would be 2 go on 2 the palace theatre's website or if you are near or in lodnon visit the box office and ask them as they are the ones with the tickets........
I read the Sunday Times review which was very positive. They said it is certainly more 'Americanised' than the film, which is undoubtedly for Broadway audiences, but there is plenty of the Pythom spirit shining through, and it looks to be a huge success, so I think the 'lovingly ripped-off' concept has worked well.
From what I've gathered, the americanized aspect has been toned down for the London production, with different versions of some songs etc to fit in with a London audience. I'm a big Monty Python fan and although I haven't seen the show, I've heard a lot of the broadway soundtrack and I thought it was brilliant! ( I do also love most musicals too though....)

thank-you all,

so the general feeling is that it is worth going to see but I probably won't be able to get a ticket.
The "lovingly ripped off" quote sounds like it's from Eric Idle, his last book was called "The Greedy Ba***** Tour".
Went to see "Spamalot last night and it is FANTASTIC!

Really true to the Python spirit but with extra elements as well. The performances are great, especially Tim Curry, Hannah Waddingham and Christopher Sieber. Music is wonderful - the most 'american' of the songs "You won't succeed in Showbiz if You don't have any Jews" probably doesn't have the same resonance as it did on Broadway (the Lyrics have been slightly adapted as well) but is still a great number.

I haven't laughed so much - cried with laughter to be honest - for ages and I'm still smiling now.

Buy, beg, setal or borrow a ticket - you won;t be disappointed!

right that's it, I am definitely getting a ticket. I hear they are not entirely sold out around xmas-so that's it, I'm buying a ticket today.
