...I've started doing a short course in plastering at my local college, and am tempted to do the full course and become a "proper" plasterer.

What i'd like to know is how much plasterers earn roughly, to see if a change in career would be worth it.

they earn loads! try getting hold of one in a hurry! seriously..i guess if you went on your own you could make 150-250 a day, hard work mind.. what are you doing now?

good luck!

Most of the work is price work so basically the harder you work the more you get paid, you'd never be paid less than 100 pound a day, was thinking about doing the same thing but cant find a course near me, which college are you thinking of doing your course?

Longlands in Middlesbrough. The short course I did was 3 hours a week for 7 weeks, it was really good and cost 10 for the whole thing!

They also do short courses in plumbing, brickwork, and joinery for the same price. I heard they are all booked out for the next two years. If your local college does something similar, I'd recommend it, 'cos these intensive courses you hear about are a rip-off, I understand.

itchy rich, dunno if you're still subscribed to this post, but the cost for the full course at Longlands is 2400 for the one year.
You can earn anything from 100 - 200 a day as a plasterer, maybe more for short notice or urgent work.

The prices listed on my website give you an idea of how much you can charge as a plasterer.
