The Hunger Games

I've just read the first book and enjoyed it but it didn't enrapture me or blow me away like I thought it might.

Debating whether to go and get the other two in the trilogy and maybe get the film of the first one when it comes out.

Just thought I'd see if anyone had any thoughts on the books, are the other two as good and worth getting etc... just no spoilers for the next two :)

I haven't read them but they seem extremely popular with the youngsters - my 12-year-old neices are both reading them. Incidentally I bought books 2 and 3 for one of them for her birthday, the whole pack of 3 books was only £6.95 on Amazon including postage, brand new - a bargain - it cost me nearly that much to post them to her!
I read them because my boys were and I thought they were very readable.
boxy could you not have had them delivered direct from Amazon?
It got a bit repetitive although some surprising new twists were added, but in my opinion sufficient interest was retained to the end - can't really say more without spoiling it. But if one didn't blow you away, then two and three probably won't either.

Duncer!!!!!

Thanks the rest of you, will see if I can get them on an offer, hoping that Tesco have them, got the first one on a 2 for £7 offer along with the first 50 Shades book. I'm interested to see what direction they take things in.

Yes annie, I could have done, but I needed to send other things to my sister at the same time. Didn't think of that at the time!
I've heard good reports of them all. I've almost finished the first book - and will definitely read the others. I need to know where the story is going and what happens!

I've just finished them all, I really enjoyed them though think I preferred the first two but very interesting to see how they finished the trilogy off.

I really want to see the first film now but have to wait until it's out on DVD in a few weeks I think. Very intrigued to see how they show it on the big screen.
