I've got his big fat English Language book, which is very good. But he seems sometimes too crotchety to me - picking fights with other authors who don't agree with him. Keep your squabbles to the teachers' common room, chaps. |

Linford Christie went to join a golf club. The secretary said, I'm sorry, we're full up but there's another club 10 minutes down the road. Linford said, do you know who I am? I'm an Olympic 100 meters champion. The secretary said, oh well, in that case, it's 5 minutes down the road.
