Why is it that so many people quote certain passages from the Bible to back up their claims against homosexuality, birth control, women priests etc. Why is it that these people don't follow the other passages of the bible forbidding eating seafood, certain haircuts, or even allowing slavery. Also, why aren't these arguments put to these bible bashers to see what their arguments are?

Been there done it lol, we have brought them all up before on here I promise you lol, I brought them all up with the Jehovah's Witness's when they knocked on my door the other day.

Mrs RATTER and myself arrived home to find them stood at the door, as she walked in past them, she said to one of them,
"oh dear, you really have knocked on the wrong door" lol, anyway about 1/2 an hour later, they had to leave for a "prior engagement" lol

You've just done it - but whether they feel able to respond to such an awkward question remains to be seen. :o)

DrFilth, Why do you call Catholics bog trotters?
He copied that Naomi...

Seen that yesterday DrF...I sat back to see if I was offended. No, I wasn't. That comment was just ignorant...I've never trotted in a bog.
naomi24 that terminology was used twice yesterday in the news section as ummmm will have noticed
I honestly haven't a clue what it means ummmm.
But what does it mean, DrF?
Gromit
The Pope is head of the Roman Catholic Church, but he cannot be held responsible for the actions of individuals within the church any more than a General or a President can be responsible for a errant soldier raping and murdering innocent Iraqi girl and her family.

If George W. wished to come to these shores, would the same people be accusing him of being a rapist, because some people he was in charge of were rapists?

A bit like people thinking Irish farmers walk round with a pig under their arm saying 'top of the morning to ya'
and i am off out to take the whippet for a run round up yonder hill while the wife cooks the tripe
Oh I see. Thanks.

You'll find that *those* bits of the bible are parables, or allegories, or not to be taken literally.............

Thanks Eddie. I've never heard the expression, but I get the distinct impression that Gromit would not employ a similarly derogatory term if he were referring to Muslims.

Jack, and the other bits are the express word of God, and must be taken literally.....
