Hi I have a ragdoll kitten , Kiera , I don't want to let her out as she would probably come to harm . I'm trying to think how I'm gonna manage to keep her indoors in summer without stifling to death in the heat ! Assuming we have any hot weather of course ! Can anyone please tell me if there is any kind of window covering available other than fly netting which is too flimsy .
Thanks Lin

I have two housecats and I have never had to worry about how to keep them indoors. What you've got to remember is that if she has never been outdoors (apart from in her cat box) then she'll be terrified of the big wide world. My cats go out on the verandah when they want to, but they're never out for very long and they are in like a shot at the slightest noise. If Kiera is used to being indoors, then I can't imagine her being desperate to get out.
I had housecats for several years - now departed - but they were happy indoors and didn't make much effort to get out. They had room to play and make their own places indoors. My friend has pedigree Siamese who don't go out, she had a screen made up of chicken wire which she fits over her French doors in the summer. This means she can open the doors from inside for fresh air (which she and the cats both like) but the cats can't get out. This seems a good solution.
You can actually get a type of netting for this reason - I saw it on one of the pet store type websites - maybe Zooplus.

My two are indoor cats and are happy and annoyingly playful cats - but Frankie can see birds from his 'perch' on the bathroom shelf when the window is open. I know he can't get out but he is stupid enough to try - so I went looking for a solution.
