Lost Book

I'm after the author and title of a book I once read. I lent it out and never got in back.
The female character was called Dorcas Grey. She was very poor, lived on a rich man's estate and married the son.
It is written in the same thread of Catherine Cookson.
If anyone knows the name I would be grateful. Thanks

It's an unusual name so I googled it and came up with A Touch of Earth. Is this the one? If you google the name, it tells you more of the story.
