Maggie, you know she you skim a book for the first time, and you just know you're going to love it?
For over 600 years old London Bridge represented the pulsating heart of London. The scene of commerce and battle, romance and ceremony, it remained a vibrant focal point for twenty generations of Londoners. Life and death flowed over and under it. This remarkable structure with its drawbridge, nineteen arches and nineteen piers, stood majestic through the centuries and was an inspiration to many who saw or dwelt on it.
Maggie, I will, thanks x

Have to go and do the boring stuff now, can't pick it up till tonight ... grrr!
I have just read "The trouble with sheep and goats" a debut novel by Joanna Cannon. Little bit Kate Atkinson-ish I thought (not a bad thing) and I really enjoyed it.
Rebus..all the way...agree with Captain..try to read them in order...there is always some reference or thread linking them.. Mr Rankin partakes of a tincture in The Oxford when in town ..like old Rebus..and is a very approachable chappie, although most folk leave him in peace...
Love Rebus, Minty....
Just about to start World Without End....Follett's Pillars of the Earth was so good.....

Thinking of a bulk buy, to distribute, of...How to Win Friends and Influence People...... ;-)
^^ lol Gness..perhaps you can serialise it here ! ..
I'm on book 5 of a series of 7, by Stephen King. It's The Dark Tower series and excellent so far!
I have recently finished No time for goodbye by Linwood Barclay. Ive never read a thriller before but i enjoyed every second of it. It was a real page turner and hard to put down..
Now I am halfway through Craig Revel Horwoods autobiography, that one holds plenty of surprises too.
Stephen King books always so much better than the film adaptations..
Having read a book one has an idea of how the characters should look and if the film does not match that then it is disappointing.
For instance Tom Cruise playing Jack Reacher.
They are, Minty.......I recall being scared by a Stephen King book....I think it's a bit like the radio being so much better than TV....you have your imagination to play along too.....x

Hi, SirA.....xx
Cujo... film was a bit silly but the book gripping ! same with pet samatary and The Stand...
sematary ^^
Tom Cruise, Donny!...I know......Who decided on that?...x
Perhaps Cruise thinks he's 6ft + and built like the proverbial ****house.
Due to some rather inclement weather in the Yorkshire Dales last week which has us coralled in our (thankfully waterproof)tent, I managed to read:
Pompeii - Robert Harris,
Carol - Patricia Highsmith,
He said, she said - Erin Kelly
Rotherweird - Andrew Caldecott.
All very different and all woth the read. :o)
* had..... (we came home early)
