The Bible is full of prophecies, and those dealing with the end times describe with uncanny accuracy events in our present day world.
This cannot be mere coincidence.
Ignoring it must be a choice to indulge a personal bias.

If you want to fool yourself, that's OK by me, but please don't accuse me of bias just because I don't accept your peculiar views.
Theland - "The Bible is full of prophecies, and those dealing with the end times describe with uncanny accuracy events in our present day world..."

Uncanny accuracy? Would you be so kind as to make those 'uncanny accuracies' known to us? Chapter and verse please.
Question Author
No chapter and verse.
The prophets describe the situation in the Middle East, the valley of bones is Israel, Jesus describes the world in end times, our world of violence wars wild weather, chaos, Imcould go on and on but it's there for your perusal.
Failed.
Question Author
Rather smug don't you think?
Are you marking homework now?
>>our world of violence wars wild weather,

That is hardly a prediction.

We have had wars all through history (both pre and post bible)

And we have had wild weather all through history (both pre and post bible)

What other wonderful prophecies are in the bible - that it will rain now and again, that we will have sun now and again, that people will be born, that people will die, that people will be ill?

So sad when people base their lives on some book from thousands of years ago.
'Uncanny accuracy'......yeah right.

I love the personal bias bit...says it all.
Come on tell us so we can read it . Exactly where in the Bible '' it describes with uncanny accuracy events in our present day world''
You must know or you could not make such a statement.
Your entire reputation is at stake, prove once and for all that you have a point or accept that we are right and you have been mislead.
I thought the end times come after a 1000-year reign by Officer Dibble?

You know the geezer: 7 heads, 10 horns?

You'd think the world's media would have got an interview with old fartypants by now, eh?

//The prophets describe the situation in the Middle East, the valley of bones is Israel,//

That part of the world has been little different from the present day for many centuries.

// Jesus describes the world in end times, our world of violence wars wild weather, chaos,//

There have always been wars. In fact the world is more peaceful than it has been for a long time. If we could just stop the Abrahamic adherents from fighting over whose "one true god" is real then much of the trouble would evaporate.

Wild weather has always been with us too. Now we have more people to witness it, more stuff to get damaged and instant news services to make sure everyone knows about it.

Jeasus said that the end days would be within the lifetimes of some of those he spoke to. When that didn't work out people kept reinterpreting what he is supposed to have said so that it would fit the present time, whenever that might be.

Generation after generation of followers have eagerly anticipated the imminent destruction of life as we know it. They all died without seeing it.
I was reading one website yesterday, burbling on about the end times being upon us (April 2016, I think this one said), with one of the signs of this being "rising gas and energy prices". Right.
These people are desperate their god kill billions of people. Sick isn't it?
I was under the impression that whatever the date of the "present day world" it always bore a resemblance to an interpretation of end time prophecies. It's in the interpretation, and in vagueness.
We 'end time' won't be for ages, we haven't had 'half time' yet.
@beso

We have a direct contradiction there: endtimes within the lifetime of those who knew Jesus personally or "1260 years" of hiding for the remnant faithful: -

(If you ever thought some Wikipedia articles were too long, they've got nothing on that one).

Plenty of search engine results for a reign of 7 years or 42 months but I put that down to these webpage scribblers being keen on "proving" that Obama is the beast.

Sigh.

Accepting it must be a choice to indulge a personal delusion.
Where have the 'end times' been portrayed in your book of horrors with any greater accuracy than the 'beginning times'. I'll consider believing in the prophecies of Revelations no sooner than when the book of Genesis begins to demonstrate agreement with reality . . . no less itself.
