THE BIBLE SAYS: God said: “I take delight, not in the death of the wicked one, but in that someone wicked turns back from his way and actually keeps living.” (Ezekiel 33:11)

Well it shows that people don’t know their Bible.

Is God Cruel? There is no God except in the minds of the week!
"Is God Cruel?"

More apathetic I'd say.
Yes, he was cruel - very cruel - and if you think he wasn't, Goodlife, you don't know your bible.
God said: “I take delight, not in the death of the wicked one, but in that someone wicked turns back from his way and actually keeps living

Who actually did he say this to?
Has he been on Parkinson?
^ :o)
The only words attributed to god in the bible are the ten commandments and we know that the bible version is a shortened set because the rest are so silly that nobody would take them seriously. Nobody actually saw him writing the commandments on the stone tablets so really it is just hearsay in a petroglyphic way..
You are doing a good job goodlife, you've convinced most people that JWs are a few pages short of the full testament.

Noami so you do be believe the Bible, or is it you believe bits what you want to.
Goodlife, very few people "know" their Bible. At best they know a little, and they know that God did not write the Bible but this was done by those who tried to give historical facts and interpret God's will.
Leviticus 24:20
If a man injures his neighbor, just as he has done, so it shall be done to him: fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; just as he has injured a man, so it shall be inflicted on him. 'Thus the one who kills an animal shall make it good, but the one who kills a man shall be put to death.

Smacks of revenge to me. Similar quotes at Exodus and Deuteronomy.

And yet Mathew suggests forgiveness and turning the other cheek. What are we to believe?
Revenge or forgiveness?

life is cruel !! that much i do know
Why didn't you finish your quote from Ezekiel. Your God was admonishing the Israelites for their wicked ways and finishes your quote with:" turn back, turn back from your evil ways, for why will you die, O house of Israel?"
He's not going to help them turn from their evil ways but will stand by and let them die because of them.

Maggiebee@ True, some people feel they know their Bible, but knowing and understanding are two different words. You are right in that God did not write the Bible, but he inspired those he chose to write it. By means of his Holy Spirit the Bible was written and preserved down to this day regardless of numerous attempts to destroy it. Does that not show it to be God’s Word?
Many believe that it is a book of myth and fairy tale.

However, it has now been proved by many to b e true. When scholars said that certain people did not exist, artifacts have now been excavated that prove their existence. Cities now non-existent but in the Bible have been uncovered.
Scientists have now even found evidence that proved Sodom & Gomarrah existed and destroyed.

Yes, to really “know” the Bible, is to understand it.

Goodlife, I'm sure we would all like to see the evidence of this "proof" and the science behind it!

Please supply a link.

goodlife, you are a lazy beyond belief, you just trot out the easy bits but when someone asks for more info. you just say 'find it yourself' what a cop out.
