Hi Spare. I know you've said the formatting (italics, bold et cetera) will have to wait a bit, but how about the preview facility? It's indispensable IMO.
Oh no, it says "Only one answer"...! Is that a Public Shame thing, ha ha... Well now you've got two, Spare, and if you reply to my Q you will have three ;-)
Maybe we haven't got any knew issues.

This may be a fair point Ummm!

Preview is on the list, but we've got a couple of weeks of techies doing techie stuff first.

I am not sure what you mean swedeheart, where did it say "only on answer"?

I am sure I will get at least one more!

Spare Ed
Thanks Spare. Where it now says Answers 1 to 5 of 5 it previously said Only 1 answer. Just above my first reply. (But I was just fooling around, it's not an issue or anything.)

Post an Answer button at the foot of threads please Ed.

Also, when we click on an item in Latest Posts is it possible to take us to the end of the thread rather than the beginning?
Any chance the Latest Posts list could show six instead of four please Ed? Thanks buddy. xxx
Hi Spare Ed - will the star-rating facility return?
I'm wondering about the Subscribed Threads box >> It has the potential of making itself very useful, but there's not much point in having it show who FIRST replied to the thread to which you are subscribing. Shouldn't it be used to notify you when a new answer has been added...?
I know it's been asked before, also by me, but any nearer having those lines between posts please Spare Ed?

Hi Shawnee,

I think we could do with you next time we need some testers! Right, Clairo gave us some helpful information there. How the database is searched is a bit complex for me to explain at the moment - I am not a Tech wizard. In the future we hopefully will allow users to search by post date, this should be help weekend posters who only want help with that weekends crossword.

Hold on, will resume shortly, a techie is explaining it to me...

The search is broken down into three domains:

1. questions (title, content, user)
2. answers (content, user)
3. articles (title, content)

The content gets 'indexed' (available for search) in a delayed fashion - it could be 15 mins to 1 h later that something appears in a search.

They are still working on the indexing as the site has just grown fatter. Yesterday they disabled indexing so they could play with it without breaking the site - they hope to enhance it today.

I think I will let them get on with it!

JMR27 - I think the stars will return eventually! I think users will be collecting them in their profile.

Swede - We'll be all over it soon!

mrs.chappie - we will run out of space soon with all the things we want to put down the side!

All the best,

Spare Ed
Did you read my post Ed?
Errr .... Ed, can't we just scrap some of the ads then? Or change the font size to miniscule for the ads, eh?
