Can anybody tell me why some IDs show up in green and others in grey?

All new members start off in green until they have been here 2 weeks. Then it turns to grey.

when you first join ab you will be green for about a week and a half - two weeks, not sure which really. You wont have the ability to report a post until you turn grey and everyone will know you are new! Thats the only difference really.
