Ed - Can you clarify the policy on posting email addresses - I know there was a discussion about it but I'm not sure what conclusion was reached. Is it ok to use throwaway ones?

Well I've frequently used a disposable address on here, as have several other moderators, and the Ed hasn't sent the hit men around to our houses yet!
What's your present one Chris.?

Ron.
The one I've been using recently isn't working, Ron. (The server seems to have gone down). I can create another one elsewhere if anyone really needs it.
Lol.....Ron☺☺☺
I had a post removed a couple of weeks ago due to my email addy being in it!
I think the trick is to put "Please contact me on this disposable address . . . ". That way the Ed can see that you've not posted your 'main' address.
I have noted what you say Ratter and am somewhat surprised.

I wonder if mine will be removed; it's :- [email protected]
Many organisations have a 'catch all' system operating on their email server, so that any mail sent to their domain name (but with an unrecognisable user name before the @ symbol) will find its way to a central person in the organisation who can then work out where it should be directed to.

So if any spammer has got web crawler software which examines this site (looking for email addresses), Ron's post above will probably result in that spammer sending loads of mail to the address which he's given, which (through the 'catch all' system) will actually end up in the Editor's inbox!
An AB'er and I communicate through my throw-away email addy. I have told them my usual email and my name but all is fine between us.

Funnily enough, I don't get spam with my throw-away but loads with my usual.
Sorry Ed if you now get a lot of E/mails intended for me. Anyway you know my real E/mail address and can forward them to me and make me regret trying to be humorous.

Ron.
Ron, I like 90% of your postings. How is Viv?
albaqwerty.....I am ok and only wish I could appreciate Ron for more than 50% of the time. I read most of his postings and groan!! He never takes any notice of me and has now gone off to bed. No doubt he'll read this tomorrow and will comment further.

Viv.
Well there are some of us who like 100% of Ron's posts, Viv!!!!

(We men have to stick together!)
;-)
I try to appreciate Mr Alba for about the same :)

Men, you can't live with them and you can't....... 'em :)

Sorry ludwig. Going off at a tangent here,
Chris that sounds painful, does it involve Velcro ?
I don't know Chris personally, but if men are to be believed, then it will :D
I've obviously lost the plot &/or come in on the wrong end of something...

I posted my AB email address in Q & P ages ago to give people a crossword grid & didn't have any problems.

What am I missing here, please?
nothing as far as I know kingy x

I'm thunking if a real email addy, which the Ed has for us to be here, then it will get zapped.
L-I-K:
What you're missing (at one level) appears to be AB's 'Terms of Use':
"8. You agree not to disclose any personal information (e.g. full name, address, phone number) either about yourself or any other individual(s) when making any posting or contribution to The AnswerBank"
and to AB's 'Site Rules':
"Do not post any personal information belonging to you or others including full name, address or phone number as it can easily be misused by others. We strongly advise you against posting links to personal photographs".

What you're missing (at a different level) appears to be within the realms of homo-eroticism!
Chris, have you seen what he wears at the MOFC????
