Probably around the time Red saw them in Bangor, they worked their way up and down the North Wales coast for ages. I kept missing them on my trips up,once by around 15 minutes.

Worth the trip Maggiebee, I think I'd do 3 miles in a taxi to see them.

No sightings reported recently so my guess is they are staying put. Couple at Castle Douglas most recent. I might have to renew my misguided subscription as there are more sightings listed on there as well as other rarities

Brilliant. still hoping they get as far as the West midlands
I've received a complaint from a Waxwings spokesbird that they're being stalked by an Aber.

I passed it on to the Ornithopolice. ;-)
Still no Waxwings here but we did have a, fairly rare this early in the year, Blackcap on the bird table this morning. I think that there was a hen lurking in the bushes with the reddish brown cap but could not be positive. I would be even rarer if they were paired off already. The only bird that I know of that mates and settles this early in the year is the Heron. No Herons on the feeder.

Blackbirds pair up early too,

Dave and I tried stalking a flock pretty much all over North Wales, little fat git got them on the day I went home.
Question Author
