It's nearly 3/4 of a century since the last German bomb fell on London. Surely it's time to move on. This new interactive map can do nothing but stir up ill feelings. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/hit-zoomable-london-map-shows-exactly-where-german-bombs-fell-171414985.html

I don't think it will stir up ill feeling. Some people are interested in history and war.
When looking at the saturation of the bombs, it is incredible that so much of 'old' London remained. I think youngsters will be interested to see if any bombs fell in their area and it'll bring history alive for them.
on the contrary, I think this is very interesting.
I can not see how this will 'stir up ill feelings' Sandy.
I used to spend a lot of time in Germany.. boyfriend at the time played footie for Eintracht..and some places we went to I was warned not to speak in English with him as there was still ill feeling....

Treu enough, probably wouldn't stir up ill feelings. But it doesn't seem so long ago that a Scouser comedian seemed to base his entire act on the fact that the Geermans bombed Liverpool.
I also think it's interesting - and I don't think it should ever be forgotten.
IMO, having lived outside the UK for a good chunk of my life in the EU and further afield, we are still some what pre-occupied with WW2. I am not decrying Remembrance Day and half-centenary dates for D-Day etc. or folk having historical interest, but the regular showing of WW2 movies, Dads Army and all the rest of it is a bit OTT, reflecting an unhealthy pre-occupation that leads to slanted views, especially about the German people, and in some areas, plain bigotry and neo-facism.
I can only think of 'they bombed our chip shop' and his ' Fokkers' joke.
Isn't 'comedian' pushing it a bit far when describing Stan Boardman?
