we have just been to choose our gorgeous chickens - and they arrive on tuesday.
we're so excited and the children are already deciding on names.

we are trying to think of famous female pairs but there doesn't seem to be any ( Apart from french and saunders )- who the kids have never heard of!

lol

my daughter likes rhyming names. she suggested:

maureen and doreen
hettie and betty
polly and dolly
sage and onion?
Henny and Penny
Ours are called.
dotty, martha, Dave, Roxy (we had to change from Rocky) peggy, betty, GilBert (bert) and hilda,
3 Ducks george, Mildred, and jemima,

They are all so much fun to watch, with real characters.....enjoy.
and if you want to see something really funny cook some Linguine pasta once they have settled in, they are hilarious with it..

i've been told they will eat any food scraps - does that include cooked food then?
Yeah, meal leftovers will be ok as long as there is not more than they can eat straight away.

Cagney & Lacey.
Laverne & Shirley.
Ashley & Marie-Kate.

I am resisting the urge to add Drumstick & Chow mein.
they will eat just about anything, but they shouldn't have meat, and don't give them bread cos it can swell up in their crops. Left over pasta always goes down well, and its hilarious to see them running about wuth spaghetti hanging from their beaks!
As for names how about Thelma and Louise?
Tinky and Winky...
They wanted names for chickens, craft, not what you call your...... ;)
Oxo,paxo and bisto...
Lexi and Matilda, or Serena and Denise (Willams - tennis playing sisters)

Uncle used to keep them he had Freeman Hardy and Willis (a name of a shoe shop in the eighties)
oops sorry Chuck...
Do you really craft?
No gran......that was just Chuck being fowl to me....
If you decide to invest in a couple of cockerels in case the lady hens need seeing to from time to time, you could call them Cox and Box, although I am reliably informed that that the ladies can only cope with one cock at a time. (Try telling that to the girls around here!)
Thelma and Louise
French and Saunders

Thelma and Louise

Flora and Dora
Aggie and Kim
or Jennifer and the other fat lady
