seagull

I found a seagull with his back on the ground not being able to move. I took him to my house and put him in a box. The next morning he seemed to be better, but still he didn't have much strength to get up. At 17:00 I gave him 3 small spoons of tap water, at 19:30 he died. Did I killed him???!!!

I am sure you didn't kill him at all - more likely he died from stress (wild birds are not too good at surviving in human care, except when in the hands of specialists). I suspect he had hit a power line or been attacked either by another bird species or another seagull (they can get a tad aggressive over food). I once rescued a young seagull from some horrible boys with sticks, wrapped him up in my jumper and took him home. He survived the night, ate a little bread soaked in milk (I had no idea what to give him) and I took him to the local PDSA as he seemed to have a broken wing. They told me about the stress bit and recommended that he was put to sleep because they were doubtful even they could bring him through.

I agree. It would have been the stress factor and maybe unseen injury. Not your fault at all. You did your best for him.

Juggle and alfie are correct, poor thing would have been in quite deep shock, birds often die quite suddenly after any trauma. so, as has been said don't feel guilty. Ray

You should have taken it to the vet or blue cross.
