Rat snake

My pet Southern American Rat snake has turned from being a very managable creature to one that strikes whenever it grts the opportunity. Has any one any ideas why and how could I control this behaviour/

Does it have a hiding place? It may be stressed.
Also, never feed it in their terrarium and never by hand. It will associate movement of hands/arms with food.
